Pre-shave Oil: Shaveology
Soap: Barrister & Mann Beaudelaire
Brush: Shave Revolution Evolution synthetic 24mm
Razor: Mongoose Alumigoose
Blade: Feather AC Pro Guard (1)
Post Splash: Humphreys Lilac Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Barrister & Mann Beaudelaire

This is a shave of firsts, of a sort: the first pre-shave oil I ever purchased, the first synthetic brush I bought, the first use of Beaudelaire and the aftershave, and my first shave with the Alumigoose. I don't use single edge razors very often and, until now, they have always been injectors [I do have a bunch of GEM and Ever-Ready SEs in the wings]. I wasn't too sure what the Alumigoose would be like or the Feather blade but, damn, after the first pass I knew it was a winner -- it felt as if two passes were already gone. By shave's end my face was smooth as could be -- easily the best shave I've had. The B&M, with another deep, rich, gorgeous, near indescribable scent, lathered like a dream with the synthetic holding more than three passes in the fibers and at least another complete shave in the bowl. Cushion and slickness were both great. The Feather easily touched up without a hint of lather on the skin and caused no irritation. The Alumigoose is light, maneuverable and heading into my rotation. The fragrance of the aftershave splash was much more evident, and just as hard to describe, but I liked it and it made my face feel fine. I just wish the scent had more staying power. I also wish more shaves were as satisfying as this one.
