This is my first experience with A&E soaps, and all I can say is: exceptional. It loaded easily without blooming, and took a few dribbles of water into the bowl to produce a very nice lather with good peaks and sheen. The smell was, frankly, delicious, and the cushion and glide it gave was really, really good. No problems going back over areas for "in-between" touch-ups, so, good residual slickness, and the post-shave feel is excellent. It leaves the face feeling really soft and comfortable. I'll absolutely have to check out more of their scents; this is a top-notch product.

The Astra blade on its fourth use was unbelievably smooth, as smooth as the first shave with it. My go-to has been the Shark Super Chrome, but I can see why the Astra is so popular. It's definitely in my regular rotation now. I got one of the closest shaves I've had in days. The Merkur is still a fantastic razor and one of my favorites, no matter how many others I try.

SOTD:
Decided to finally retire the 7 o clock sharp edge after 20 perfect shaves, I used a voshkod for the first time today. Not the sharpest blade, but usually blades feel a lot sharper on the second shave but very very smooth nonetheless.

Thanks to the warm weather here in South Africa, ive been able to switch back to aftershaves instead of balms like prep even though its still winter.
