What a superb shave provided by Phoenix Shaving. What can I say?

Steeplechase Sport is just a phenomenal scent. On paper, it's an homage to Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren, but in shave soap form and from Phoenix Shaving, it's absolutely magnificent!

There's just this intangible quality to the scents Phoenix Shaving produces. They always have what feels like that little something extra to make them special. That last little bit to get them to be a 10/10. None feel middle of the road or like they're missing something. I recognize the quality and very much appreciate it.

I built some epic lather and went at it with the Ascension Select. With its D.O.C. head and its adjustable nature, you can't go wrong. There's no excuse for anything less than a stellar shave when you combine these features. This was the case for me today.

I did a three-pass shave after fine-tuning the razor and earned a sweet bbs. The soap with its top-tier base did an outstanding job of protecting my skin.

When done I applied some matching aftershave/cologne and was off to the races.

Hello friends

Today was a pleasant Saturday, conducive to a great shave. So I was bold enough to shave off my three-day beard. Green Cult 2.0 baseplate IV, which works great for me at a steep angle, maybe because of the 1.05mm gap and the 0.20mm exposure; Gillette Nacet (5), efficient and smooth; MdC Fougère, probably my favorite soap, Omega 48 Pro a big (literally) brush and Brut Faberge, always wonderful.

Along this trip: Frank, Only The Lonely.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

Another very in-expensive eclectic shave set up where everything paired together wonderfully.

The Parker 94R. / Dorco Prime Platinum is a wonderful match very smooth, sharp and efficient.

A close comfortable 2 pass +pick ups shave with no errors to report. finishing the shave off with a few small dollops Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Notes to these shaves:

Still in. I was pondering over Guido’s (JAHE) remark yesterday and the small exchange we subsequently had. My exception razor came in yesterday (Athena) and it is gorgeous. And it also made me realise I have absolutely enough razors to have excellent shaves with. I cannot see myself parting with any of them yet (as they all bear stories with them - there are no unnecessary buys with each serving a purpose), but maybe in the future. I do definitely feel a sense of razor saturation (bordering on RRA) which I consider to be a blissful thing at this stage.

After yesterday’s shave I needed some tried and trusted goodness and lucky for me my favourite axe was on rotation. Great combination with this blade as well, although first shaves with a Dorco are usually about settling in before the shave gets buttery smooth or better.

There are things up for approval but overall a very nice Sunday Shave.
