My cheap-o shave for this thread is the following, using several usual players (I typically shave cheap these days):

Palmolive Classic (supermarket cream, 3-4 euros);
Vie-Long horse-badger brush (bought in 2011, for something like 15 euros);
Focus R21 shavette (15-20 euros);
Shark DE blade snapped in half (do the math, something like a few centimes);
Christian Lenart Eau micellaire (a Thayers-like facial toner, 4-5 euros in the supermarket).

Razor: Lord L122C
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (3rd use)
Brush: Omega 10810
Cream: ARKO Hydrate
Alum: Nice Cool
Aftershave: Mennen Skin Bracer

Refreshing birthday shave today. OK results, maybe a little redness. ARKO creams in general are quite nice for the price. While Skin Bracer is cheap and available in the US, it's unobtanium down under, I only have this bottle becuase I did a trade with a fellow visiting from the states, so I will cherish this bottle and I plan to make it last as long as I can.

Happy birthday to you! I have a question about the Lord 122C razor. I can't shave cleanly enough with this razor, unlike the Merkur 37C. Maybe you have a secret?

Cheers! It is fairly mild, maybe just too mild for you? I used a more cap forwards angle for most of the shave, but went more bar forwards for the ATG pass. Mostly smooth result, about what I'd expact for the mildness.

Fortunately, my shave went better than the way my day started. First, my coffee maker would not start. Then I went to open a can of V-8 juice and the tab snapped off. I used a can opener to make a hole in the can. Then in preparing breakfast, I managed to burn the toast. However, my Timeless SS SB .68 razor and Personna Medical Prep blade gave me my fourth excellent shave: smooth and close. The next brush in my rotation was a 28 mm synthetic made by Shavemac. The brush did an outstanding job of making lather. The Razor Rock soap was used for the 16th consecutive day. The soap continues to excel in performance. The result was a perfect shave. Have a wonderful day and week, folks.
