SOTD at a glance

Holy cow Jim! Awesome. For some reason, of all those great products, I was most drawn to the Old Spice SOTD. I have never used Old Spice (at least not since I started DE shaving....).

Jim, I can't think of the superlatives right now to express my admiration for your shaving collection and your photography skills. All I can say is both are amazing. Well done.

Sir, if I don't mind saying... that's a damn fine collection you have there.

Thanks goodness I have a 25MB connection to the net ;)

Wow...those are some amazing vintage Simpson's brushes! You can tell from my sig that I love brushes like that
I saw a peak of the butterscotch and you even have a pewter one!

Shaving porn is right! Amazing photo's and products Jim!

Thank you for sharing!

There is no words to express this masterpiece. May I suggest a hard copy print and photo album for these. I especially like the pics with straights in them. This has given me a lot of good ideas. In particular Olivia crema and balm. I noticed you didn't use TGQ soaps at all. And you didn't use AOS soaps as much as I'd thought. Coates Lime got a lot of play as much or more than Castle Forbes Lime. You use a lot of splashes and not as much witch hazel or balms as I thought. Great Work Jim and thanks for the ideas! :shaving:

Jim, amazing!

I have a question about one of your pics. Is that a single wrapped bar of Blenheim Bouquet Soap? I don't know how to ID the pic other than it was pure Blenheim Bouquet.

This album is a photographic record of my journey of exploration of high quality shaving products. While representative of the time in which it was used, it is not reflective my tastes today. I generally do not use glycerin based soaps, creams of any kind and I have moved away from most balms and hydrosols as my skin has recovered from 30 years of Williams soap abuse. I am enjoying mostly splashes today and that is my most active "AD" now.

There is nothing wrong with any of these products, they just are not for me.. I will say you are right, the photographic record of my AOS use is poor, but it does get a heavy use in my rotation I love the stuff.

Thank you for the kind words.

More than likely yes it is. I have a small stash of the tallow based bath soap. The new version is almost as nice.

All those photos are great so I made them my desktop background.

If you have WINDOWS 7 you and are using Firefox, do the following:

1. Save the web page.
2. Find the folder where the photos for the web page are stored.
3. Delete the extraneous images, such as avatars.
4. Move to a directory where you won't accidentally delete it.
5. Tell WIndows 7 this is your new desktop, and it will cycle through all the photos.

:thumbup1:Wow those were some awesome photo's and even more amazing was the array of products. That is a really nice collection you have. What camera are using and what kind of lens?

Thanks Justin,
some are shot with a Canon P&S the others are with a D70 with various lenses, but nothing special.

Jim, outstanding photographic journey of high end magazine quality grooming stills.
Thanks for all the time spent sharing them with us.....one of my favourite threads all time on B and B

I enjoyed going through these on a relaxing "fall back" morning with a tasty cup of coffee. Great shots, even if I'm a couple of years late!
