What's new

Soon-to-be first time brush user

The only other two differences you can not determine from the picture were the manufacturer and the hair bundle. Kent has always used "PURE" (cylindrical hair) in their tortoises as opposed to tapers. Really the similarity ends at the faux tortoise.

I would definitely try some samples first. Also you said you already had some cream, Try that with you new brush and it might just be the magic combo you are looking for.

Thanks Jim ... funny, but the cream I DO have is Nancy Boy - which, of all things, happen to be a brushless cream. Haha. Oh well, a lot of guys seem to be doing ok lathering it up with a brush so I'll definately give that one a go first.

Just ready to beat some GFT Almond into submission!:w00t:

Very nice, Ron ... I'm thinking that's gonna be my first brush. Sounds like, for the money, this is definately the way to go. Do you find yourself using the 208 pretty frequently?

Stephen, thanks. That's interesting, I've heard just the opposite on those creams. I've heard that Trumpers tends to leave your face a bit dry, while Taylor is a bit more lubricating and moisturizing. But I guess we all have different experiences based on our skin type. I ordered some samples from Scott. I got a couple from Taylor, Trumper, and finally one from Salter. The T&H creams don't really interest me as I've been dissapointed by some of their other offerings in the past.

Dave, you can't do better than contact Scott himself to try out a variety of creams. As a newcomer to wetshaving as well, however, I've personally found it easier to get a more lubricating lather from D.R. Harris and Trumper's than Taylor's, so I would suggest beginning there before moving on to explore the value that Taylor's offers.

I only have about 14 (I've lost count) brushes.. Each gets to see action within a 2-week period..:blushing:
