What's new

sons first shave

My oldest kid got his first shave today (at 13), and I made sure it wasn't gonna be with a crappy cartridge razor.

No cuts from him, but I cut him a little showing him how to get his nose out of the way.

The after shave I use (Captains Choice Bay Rum) stung him pretty well, but I don't feel a thing when I use it. Is that old skin vs new skin?

Gotta be just because you're used to it but that's a proud moment, my step son is 13 and I can't wait until I'm teaching him how to shave properly.

We gotta gettem young and early!!!

I forgot the funny face when he tasted the stiptic pencil. The cut was onteh edge of the lip. Doesnt work to well on lip cuts.

I wish my old man taught me to shave with a DE razor. He uses (and has always used) cartridge razors. He wouldn't entertain using a DE as he thinks he'd be cut to ribbons.

He always thought i was playing with fire when I shaved my head with a cartridge - he'd probably have kittens if he saw me with the DE blade going over my bonce! Ha.

The styptic pencil does sting but that's just a sign that it's working.
I guarantee he'll be the envy of his friends now, not just cos he's started shaving at a young age but he's using a 'bad-***' Double Edge blade instead of some mickey mouse disposable!

Great job, must be very exciting I suspect the sting is through lack of experience, I vaguely remember the first time I splashed on some aftershave sheesh!!
