What's new

Some things I own.

I have been on a posting drive lately so I could establish my bona fides in the wet shaving community. I had a very negative experience on another forum (SRP). They assumed that because I gave a product a glowing review, and was new to posting that I was put up to writing the review by the vendor. I was more than a little irritated with the moderators and have since stopped visiting the forum, even though they were "nice" enough to revoke my "lifetime ban". Besides I like this forum a lot better. So the point of this thread is to talk about the "core items" in my wet shaving routine. I have included pictures. I work my razors for about a week at a time, and use different soap/cream/AS/EDT every day. The Gillette fusion is for shaving the hard to get places under my nose and the corners of my chin. This forum and the people who write here have been great guides for me to use when purchasing new products. I would say that 99% percent of the time I am happy with my purchases. The razors are Merkur, Bob's Razor Works TTO Bull Mastiff slim custom, Gillette 53 Super Speed, and a Feather Artist club in teak. The creams/soaps include three from Al's Shaving Products, highly recommended. Mama Bear has a strong showing in both soaps and cologne, as well as The Shave Den, and Gentleman's Best. Trumper and Penhaligons are present. I am going to be adding Trafalgar from T&H soon. Tabac, C.O. Bigelow, Ogallala, Tommy Bahama, British Sterling, and even some new Old Spice (Great stuff). And many others. Any way I just felt like sharing. Hope your day finds you well.

I don't know about the other board, but this board does not allow sideways pictures.

J/K!

Welcome! That's quite a den! I'd like a blue bottle in my den...
I tried Tabac today. I bet it smells worse than everything in your collection!

You need at least a dozen new razors and, perhaps, 10 more brushes. Buy, Buy, Buy.

And don't even mention the word "projection."

I also find that "other forum" to be very snobbish-super-elitist-holier-than-thou. I dont really go around there much anymore, either.

Nice den! I'll have to try that Booster stuff one day!

I agree. I felt like they were assuming that because I don't feel the need to type something on the computer every time i shaved or tried a new product, that I must be some kind of idot when it comes to wet shaving. Very off putting to say the least

The trumpers is Wellington. It does not get the attention of some of the others in Trumpers line, but it is GOOD. The Creeds are Bois du Portugal, Imperial, Original Vetiver, GIT, and Tambarome. Very nice stuff.

Thanks Luc, The Boosters is GREAT. West Coast Shaving is a good source for Boosters and Frasers products.

Thanks for the photos- if you have a few blades somewhere, then you are certainly ready for the SHAVE-OCALYPSE. :thumbup1:

Very nice. I had a lady friend come over my house yesterday. You should have seen the look on her face when I showed her my shave den.

$100 says currently her closet has more shoes than most of the men here will own throughout their entire lifetime combined.

Unlike many other forums, B&B does not exist as a vehicle for the products or services offered by its owners. We don't have a dog in the fight, and because of this we have historically been the target of shilling far more than any other shaving site. Plain and simple, shilling exists, and is a major problem that will addressed whenever it arises.

So, in fairness, we're probably at least as sensitive to the subject of shilling as any site, for the sad fact that we have borne its heavy price more than any other.
