An attempt to clear some room in my increasingly crowded office. Some of these hurt to get rid of! Others maybe not so much; I may not have bonded with them aesthetically or they may pose a slightly greater challenge than my meager skills care to deal with. Parker and Raketa, I'm looking at you.

$40 Raketa 5/8 *geometry questionable
$40 Ralf Aust 5/8 plastic scales *small ding in toe (not edge)
$75 Parker Tokyo 13/16 *geometry not perfect
$75 Towa AA frameback, NOS never honed
$125 Filarmonica 14 Novodur user grade
$175 Aiku Derby 6/8 *minor geometry issue
$175 Böker The Celebrated Wenge 6/8
$175 Böker Pearl Tang, 6/8 bog oak
$180 Wacker Barbier's Bride 6/8
$250 TI Bijou de France 7/8 singing, ebony, filed spine
$30 glass-topped latching 10-slot display box
---
By the each, individually or $1000 Instant Collection 😁 act fast before someone breaks up the set 😎 (receive ALL razors + display box)

Please note that I am a newbie so you should assume you will need to put your own edge on anything and everything. That said the Bökers, TI, and Wacker came via respected vendors with good edges and have been maintained on balsa.

The Aiku looked challenging to me so I asked doc226 to hone it for me and he said "It’s a little warped, but only a bit." You will see the bevel is small in one area but he was able to hit it just fine. It's a lovely razor for someone slightly more confident than me. Someday I will be more confident but in the meantime I am still working on basic skills and sampling the smörgåsbord 😋

Need more/different photos? I will do my best with my wee phone.

Questions answered as best I can. Due to timezones and delays checking messages and suchlike, PayPal commitment trumps all in the event of overlapping inquiries.

CONUS for shipping (included, no charge) please.

GLWTS, sir... very nice offerings. Can you elaborate on the geometry issues on the Raketa (it's Cyrillic, the "P" is an "R"). I have one that had some issues too, it took me a fair amount of work to get it squared away.

That case is cool, where did you find it?

Thanks for the P/Raketa tip. Edit window was still open so I could fix it :) There is some kind of warp in the Rocket (I'll run upstairs later and look to see where exactly) but I ran out of patience trying to get the full length all the same. I understand rolling strokes in principle, but may not have the dexterity to pull them off :( at least not yet.

The boxes come from Etsy, some jewelry supply place. Due to volume issues :whistling: I eventually settled on thinner, plexi (vs glass) topped ones that stack more densely. Those have snaps instead of a latch. I use one of the taller ones for my DEs to keep the dust off :lol1:

On looking at the Aust to answer a question I realize I forgot to note that when I got it via BST originally it came with a small ding in the toe. I assumed that's why it carried a low price, which I have marked down even further as I now pass it along. It's hard for me to photograph with my phone, but here's an attempt.

I would hate for that to be an unhappy surprise for someone.

Good question came about the size of the slots in the case. They are roughly 1 1/8" x 6 7/8" so the big choppers and many long-tail customs won't fit. The 7/8 TI I have in there is pretty much the max that fits flat.

Step right up for two very nice razors in excellent, lightly used condition...

  2. $250 TI Bijou de France 7/8 (compare at $329)
... and one miserable stinker that looks very nice but is more stubborn than me

Barbier's Bride has been wed.

Still Available

  • $250 TI Bijou de France 7/8 (compare at $329)
  • $60 Parker Tokyo 13/16 *slight warp (price reduced)

At that price, I guess I will have to take the Parker out and shoot it off your hands next week. Assuming no one else does before, let's say, Thursday. I should have funds by then. I have no idea what I am going to do with it...
