Soaps and soap sticks can come in the hard or soft category. For example, Valobra and Cella are relatively soft. In contrast, LaToja and AOS are relatively hard.

Some folks like the soft soaps because they lather easier. Some like the hard soaps because they last longer. There are numerous reasons to like one or the other or both. Which ones do you like?

I voted I like both soaps equally. Maybe a slight edge to soft soaps: I love Cella, Proraso and Razorock. But I wouldn't want to be without MWF or D.R. Harris either.

I don't really think one is better then the other, but I did vote hard as all the soaps I have come to love so far have been hard to date. A lot of the RR soaps i have had I have had a slight reaction to, they dry my skin out and cause really itchy skin for me and a bit of redness so I tend to stay away now, specially in winter months when no amount of moisturizer can help the cause lol. Its a real shame as well as I love the performance and scent of a lot of the line up

Proraso is easily available at hand and ive used it so much it has lost its appeal to me. and cella just gets to sweet... hard soaps have a lot of scents and performance without the reaction so far

plus I like the lil wooden bowls

I don't know whether it's me or my water, but hard soaps (esp a good tallow or glycerin) give me my best shaves. I don't think I have any soft soaps left.

I voted for "soft soaps". I do like hard soaps, like DR Harris...but...I just have better lathering experiences and better overall shaves with the soft soaps.

I don't have a preference, as long as the lather ends up the way I like. I have many more soft soaps, because I haven't found many hard ones that produce such lather.

I went with “hard”, but I don’t think it is about the consistency for me really. It just happens that my top five performers are all hard soaps. There are some great soft soaps that I enjoy using, they just aren't at the top of my list.

I like all soaps but lean toward the soft soaps/creams as they're an easy lather and IMO have more cushion/glide

I use and love both soft and hard shaving soaps. That said, the only distinction I really make on soaps is good ones Vs bad ones.
