Soap turn sticky

I had a really unpleasant experience the last time i used zingari man the watchmen. I finished my first pass with my straight razor, and to me the lather was just right. On the second pass i went straight to a against the grain pass. The lather turned almost sticky. This is the only soap i have that changes after the first pass. There is suppose to be allot of skin care ingredients in it. I usually just rise my face between passes, which should be enough to get enough hydration.
I ended up with irritation for the first time in a long time. What happened with the soap?

Use more water when building lather. The only time I've had soap feel sticky is when I didn't use enough.

Maybe i did not hydrate it enough the last pass. I did slide off the straight razor from gravity during the first pass without rinsing, so it was definitely hydrated enough starting out. Maybe i just loaded to much.

Add more water for sure. Slowly at first to not break the lather down but most soaps can handle a lot of water.
