I wanted to beat out the Christmas holiday shaving soap rush (all of you B&Bers tend to suck the soap supply dry around Christmas), so I recently purchased several pucks of Mama Bears soaps as semi-gag gifts for a couple of my relatives. For the ladies in the family, I purchased these cute animal soaps and ones that smell like delicious chocolate confections. Oh, and for my Brother-in-law (who is a wet shaving convert), a puck of MWF and RazoRock soft soap.
I live in Boise and it's dry here, especially during the winter months. On especially dry days, people's eyes are often stuck inside of their sockets forcing them to to turn their whole heads when crossing streets. Fearing that the soaps would shrivel up into chunks of concrete, I placed them all in Ziploc® bags with pieces of wet paper towels inside to keep the humidity at a tolerable level. I would have placed them in my walk-in soap humidor, but it's full. I've got to keep these soaps in good shape for three months, after which they could be used as toilet bowl disinfectant for all I care. Presentation is key.
So is this OK, or do I run the risk of damaging the soaps? I would hate to have to repurchase the soaps during the mad Christmas soap dash.
