Soap recommendations for use with Shave Cloth

Newbie here guys. Been DE wet shaving now for 2 1/2 months and began using some of the products from Hydrolast for the last 6 weeks; specifically the shave cloth, soap, and AS balm. I feel like in a short time I am getting some DFS shaves with these products.

My question is, do you have any recommendations for other soaps besides those recommended on the hydrolast website for use with the cloth?

Nobody uses the Shave Cloth instead of a brush? I'd like some advice on other soaps that work well with it.

Method shaving

Try that thread if you haven't read it. I myself have not tried method shaving so I could tell you nothing about what soap to use.

Method shaving has, in the past, always kind of been a hot topic. I've avoided the threads like the plague because it always turns into a free for all talking about how rediculous it is, it's a rip off, the guy is nuts, etc.

That being said, I don't know any method shavers or anyone who uses a cloth rather than a brush.

I would have to imagine that you could use just about any shave soap that you like with no ill consequences.

I believe that you can use a brush with method shaving. They sell brushes here on the Enchante site.

Sorry Mark but I have never tried this cloth of which you speak, so I am unable to help you. It might be worthwhile to try using a good quality shave stick as a relatively inexpensive experiment. Good luck.
