Soap Like Proraso Cream?

I have been wet-shaving for a year now, and I can't find a product (soap or cream) that is as effective as Proraso. Sure, the scents are different, but only Proraso gives me a BBS and irritation free shave on a daily basis. Is there a soap that is as efficacious? Thanks from all those Proraso lovers out there!

If you want one that is like the creme you need to look for one that contains sodium lauryl sulfate and not soap since that is what is in the creme.

As much as I like Proraso SC (and I do), I like the green tub of shaving soap just a little better. For whatever reason I got slightly better shaves from it than from the cream (I think it has a little more cushion with the same degree of slickness).

As far as shaving soaps with SLS are concerned, you might try some of Sue's shaving soaps from St. Charles Shave. (I note hers contain SLES, not SLS.) I just shaved with a shave stick I won from Sue in a recent contest, and was on the receiving end of one of the best shaves I've ever had.

Thanks for the advice. I have tried Conk's Almond (not too bad), Van Der Hagen, and C&E Nomad. None of them are bad, I just get better shaves with Mr. Green. I think I am going to try Proraso saop and Mama Bear's. I do have some DR Harris cream (marlboro) and I am considering trying one of their soaps. How's DR's soaps?
