Soap Bags

Does anyone know of any soap bags, which hold the puck and can supposedly create lots of lather?

I've seen some on the internet but I was wondering if there was "the brand" to use.

I'm talking about regular bath soaps, btw.

Something like this:

Any recommendations?

I have never seen or heard of this until reading your post. I think the idea makes a lot of sense. My only concern would be how well it dries due to bacteria growth? Keep us posted as I want to know more myself!

I've used a nylon mesh soap bag before, and it does make lots of lather, but drying the soap in the bag wasn't all that effective. After trying it for a week, I decided to stop using the bag.

 I was hoping you guys could fill me in.

Hmm...never used one but maybe you could take the soap out and let them dry separately, and when you need to use it again you just slip it in the bag. Where did you buy yours?

Mom and Dad got a few and gave me one -- sorry, I don't have a vendor for you.

My Mother used to make them out of old Terry Cloth Towels using a 1/4 cotton rope as the draw string. Growing up she made enought that she changed them out every day.

After shower we were to remove the soap and place in in the soap dish to dry and hang the bag on the hook to dry.

Will follow this thread as I've been looking too but only found things that are called "soap mittens" and such. Seems to me bamboo might make an excellent material for a soap bag since it is supposedly a very soft fabric that dries much more quickly than cotton.

I have used both the terry cloth ones and mesh bag ones. The terry cloth ones are much softer, but they don't dry out very well between use and to me, it just generally got really icky. The mesh one I'm using now, isn't as soft (or soft at all), but it does dry out nice when I hang it in the shower. Of course I also use it for a different reason. We buy all natural soap (ie pricier) and I hate throwing out all those little slivers that are too small to keep washing with. So I save them all up and after a month or 2, I put them all in the soap bag and wash with them.

I have a bar of wool felted soap that works pretty well and doesn't stay wet, got it as a stocking stuffer for christmas.

you can make your own or have a look around local craft stores etc.

Oh yeah, I'm talking about this kind of bag:

That's what I use, not this 'soap sudzer' type:

Those kind are messy as well, the soap gets stuck inside, the inside netting gets all goofed around.

But again, I use it for something different, so maybe it works better for whole bars of soap.

I bought the sisal fiber soap bag from ChagrinValleySoap.com

I really am not too impressed with it, but like it more than a washcloth

i used to have a sponge that had an overlapped end that you folded back and inserted a bar of soap into the middle of the sponge.it was pretty effective.i think one of my houseguests "disappeared"it.

You're supposed to put the soap in the bag? I have a couple that I use as wash cloths - wear it like a mitten, rub soap on the outside and scrub your body. Not sure I would want to leave soap in there, it would get pretty gunky pretty quickly, I would think.
