So what on earth is Blue Floïd?

Hi folks,

As I struggle with all my ADs, I do not seem to do very well with my ASAD. Too bad, but resistance IS futile, eh?
See, I believe in the disinfecting and pH balancing properties of alcohol-based splashes, yet too much of anything ain’t good either and you end up with dry skin and rashes if used everyday.

Anyway, I have been thinking about these Floïd splashes, especially the Italian ones, since they reportedly have less alcohol, which seems to be just what I’m looking for.
Doing some search here and throughout other boards (boo, eeeeevil!!:devil2:), I managed to find reviews and figure out the genuine/sweet candy/powdery barbershop/amber Italian Floïd, thanks.:biggrin1:

Yet, I DID NOT find much help or info when it comes to the Blue one. It is supposed to be more modern, what does that mean? Some say the smell has a lower profile… Which I just can’t figure out.
So, please help me those of you who have been trying/using it:

-Is it just some kind of Aqua Velva clone?
-Am I gonna end up smelling something in the vein of Cool Water just like any college student?
-What does it smell (please, for the life of me!:crying:)??
-What makes it so special? Is it even more soothing or light on alcohol/menthol than the Genuine one?

Thank you very much, any input will be greatly appreciated.

check out https://www.superlather.com/ it is run by a member here, great service he carries several types of Floid and if you check the decants page he usually has decants (small samples) available for purchase as well, I tried both the blue and the orange both to me seemed high in alcohol and both had a classic barber shop/shaving scent that one would recognize but not similar to AV the orange to me smelled a little sweeter and both scents faded very fast. Try a couple decants a cheap method to see if you like it or not.

I got several decants from superlather. I am enjoying cycling through them, a different one everyday. I liked the floid and the pitralon ones especially.

Thanks a lot gents.
I might try this decant thing, but getting alcohol-based things to fly over the Pond is often a thorny issue, when possible. And I doubt the shipping costs would make the "sampling" relevant actually.

Now, how would you DESCRIBE the Blue scent?:001_huh:

Am I helpless?

Thanks a lot anyway.

To me the scent reminds me of the Formaldehyde we used to pickle frogs in Biology class.

I just do not care for it at all

It does smell very similar to Aqua Velva to my nose though it's not identical...

I have both versions and prefer the original scent..

May have my bottle of Blue up for sale soon...
