So, What Am I Going To Do With All These Handles?

As I collect more and more inexpensive, 3 piece razors I end up with an equal number of handles that I just don't use...and never will. All of the vintage Gillette handles, at least the ball end and the common bar handles, are far too small. Short, light and not enough diameter. Right now they just stand silently on the shelf behind my razor heads that are all lined up and ready to go on their aftermarket handles. I just have to have the longer, heavier handle to feel comfortable and feel like the razor is balanced.

I can't get rid of the handles. What if I want to sell the corresponding head someday? Very few people, other than some here, would want to buy just a razor head. I guess the question is really rhetorical. I really can't get rid of them, so I guess I will just put them neatly in some small box and tuck them away for they day when they might depart with their matching head.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Bury them in your backyard. Be sure to double wrap in plastic. If you ever need them you can dig them up. If not, hopefully you'll confuse the heck out of some archeologist in a few hundred years  .

1. I don't have nearly enough talent to accomplish any of those things.

3. Great, you're a lot of help. I tried to dig a hole in my back yard to plant a new little tree. I learned that in San Antonio we have 2" of topsoil (if you can call it that) followed by 6 feet of rock and rubble. I needed a jackhammer, not a shovel.

I don't understand. What do you mean, "What should I do with these handles?"

You *HOARD* them, silly.

PIF! PIF! PIF! (but only if you want to)

I routinely PIF stuff that I don't need or want for several reasons. It's nice to give stuff to someone who uses and enjoys it, it declutters my house which I enjoy (I feel calmer and have more energy when my house is relatively clean and uncluttered), and I have an excuse to order other stuff which I like more.

Although I find it difficult to believe that the Toro Mastiff head I sent off in a PIF will ever find a loving home short of a metal recycling program. Or as part of James Bond's secret weapon arsenal with lasers and a core of high explosives. That thing is dangerous!

Actually PIF'ing some of the handles was my first thought. I think what I'll do is sort out which razors I'm keeping and which one's are not keepers. I can sell or PIF the non keepers and then PIF the handles to the one's I do keep....since I won't use them to shave with.

I'm sure there are people out there who need replacement handles for their razors. I'm very lucky to have a few handles with no cracks or missing ball ends. They'll go over well.
