Thank you. yeah it looked interesting when I compared it to my Gem Jr.. Also the difference in the frame is like the difference between an American and British Aristocrat. The way the head sits . Well Sunday is put down the injector and shave with this one. Nice to see ya' Erik! Enjoy all!
When I first shaved with a Damaskeene my impressions were: "Wow, that is smooth." The Gem Jr. (not to be confused with the Gem Junior Bar which I found quite similar to the Damaskeene shave-wise) seemed more aggressive to me and nowhere near as smooth, but YMMV as always. Hope the shave goes well, I look forward to your updates.
I just picked one up this week too! - the one I purchased doesn't have the lid/cover but I cleaned it up and shave for the first time with it the other day and . . . . well, wow! I would read what folks here were saying about them and the Gem Micromatic is my daily razor, so I bought it not knowing that the thing was missing anything!
the clip at the top still holds tension . . . I loaded it and the result without much if any extra effort began to work toward the BBS shave I love and very much "need". - lol

I love my Damaskeene, found it at an antique store for 13$ and shaved with it later in the day. After my first shave with it, I Instantly switched from DEs to SEs. That little beauty gives me amazing shaves (BBS in most places, DFS on the neck) blade buffing with a Damaskeene is face friendly. Enjoy!

Well I popped a gem Blue in , got the Big Boar, loaded up with PannaCrema and started. Neat. Smoother by far than my smaller Gem and easier to find angle, although my technique is not 100%. So like probably every newbie, under the the nose was the most challenging. The neck was easy and chin too.I took my time( kinda hard to do after using Schick Injectors) but I got a dfs and that's fine with me. No nicks , cuts or weepers. I like the neck of the handle, works well with the frame.. around the lips and I slowed waaaaay down. Very good audible feedback. No tugs or pulls and it made me feel as if I were shaving aboard a fantastic vehicle from Jules Verns' mind. The Nautilus. I dig these but it won't be an everyday affair.But I will start using it more 'cause it's a darn good razor. have a great week of shaves!

Cool, although I was thinking of the one in the Disney version but how could you know that. I still want one before I die( I built the model) Check out ,20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, great cast.The sub does look like a razor...................

Yep. Saw the film and liked it.But the "new" Nautilus just doesn't look as intimidating as the original, but that's just my taste.The top sub is from 2003 movie ' The league of extra ordinary gentleman'

Aye matey but she looks awesome when she charges a ship to ram and she's just under the surface and bam! Another bad guys ship down. And the interior is divine, such decor. Well I guess we've got a YMMV when it comes to the Nautilus! lololol Have a great day!!

Well I do like the design. I would say it would slice through a wooden ship like a good slant or an SE and that hole puncher on the bow would punch through armor of its' time easily and it has a cool matching car.

I would think they shaved with straights .
