What's new

So, I walked into an Indian grocery yesterday

looking for shaving products and found 3.

Dettol, Godrej Regular, and Godrej Lime.

On the same shelf, and I swear I could smell it, was a box of Mysore Sandalwood soap. I picked up one of these and am eager to try it. Great fragrance. I didn't know about the drying properties nor the "Gold" version so I just may go back and see if I can swap this out. Or damn the torpedos, full steam ahead. :001_rolle

I was also wondering if there might be an all natural shampoo that I could also look for at the same grocer.

Are there any that you would recommend ?

thanks

Luckily for me, the Indian grocer was closed when I went by there yesterday, so I still have it.

I am going to present it to SMBO today along with the Lady Gillette Blue as part of a package deal, spa treatment, put on by yours truly.

Candles, soft music, chilled wine, the whole tomato.

Should be fun and garner enough points for another brush. :001_smile

Do the treatment well and I venture to say that your reward will be far nicer than a brush.

A wife deserves a pampering now and again, look what they put up with from us!!

I finally found an Indian grocery store near where I live and went in. I asked if they had any Indian shaving cream products - and the answer was no.

Next time I get to the 7-11 near me I will ask the owner if he knows any place that sells these wonderful creams.

I've been to 4 area stores, and not a single one has any of the shaving creams I was hoping to try.
Not Palmolive.
No Godrej.
Nadda.

Got some nice Mysore Sandalwood soap though!
Large 3oz for $2.50 woo-hoo!!

Anyone have any ideas of how to locate local vendors?
Or should I just bag it and trade or buy online?

I asked the owner of the local Mail Boxes Etc, who happens to be Indian. I asked him where he shops for groceries, and he gave me 2 names that I was unfamiliar with. Houston has quite a large Indian community and that makes it easier.

As a side note, I sent an e-mail to the Italian Chamber of Commerce to see if they knew of any grocers that might stock shaving products, etc.
No response.
I was thinking of a followup to the embassy.

Next I will try Spanish, German, Swiss, and whatever I can think of.

i tried the mysore sandalwood soap and really couldn't get past the objectionable scent. Really wanted to like it but just couldn't.
