Swish in a sink full of SUDSY water. Seems to provide better lubrication of the head of the razor against my face. Then hot water rinse under the tap with the head/blade loosened at the end of the shave.

Always with hot running water to rinse my razor and to rinse my face with a face cloth after my three passes. I never keep water in the sink.

Always under a running tap turned off between rinses save the planet and all that jazz etc. Plus it makes the sink a heck of a lot easier to clean afterwards.

+ 1..... I'm with Len on this one. Three to four passes and then finish up with a splash cold water, it's the only way to fly!

For rinses during the shave, I swish in the water I keep in the sink. I also use this same hot soapy water to rinse my face. That's how they did it in the old days, when hot water was not readily available, and it keeps the water bill smaller.

When done, a quick rinse from the tap, and shake off excess water.

I'm actually curious about this one too. After swishing it under hot water, I've been (I know, I know) taking my blade OUT, and wiping the blade on a towel to get rid of any built up soap scum or hairs, then wiping the edged with a Qtip soaked in rubbing alcohol...
I heard somewhere that just leaving it to airdry can rust the blade edge?

Hot water from the tap turned off between rinses.
If I said it was to save the planet I'd be lying.
It's to save on the water bill.
Plus, seeing all that debris from the shave and other sources floating in the sink would turn me off to putting it back on my face.

Running tap (hot) here too, because I like to rinse in clean water. Turned of in between because well, it just makes sense!

3rd option - I try to watch my water consumption so I use a bowl the size of 3 or 4 cups. Once filled with hot water, I sink my lathering cup in it and load my brush first and than used for my safety or straight rinsing.

Under the running tap gets my vote. All seriousness aside, Actually I don't get too involved with this, I basically run some tap water over the razor then, after putting on my surgical gloves, I remove the blade. Both razor and blade are then rinsed in distilled water with a little vinegar added and carefully blown dry with a hair dryer set on medium. Next, I use a cotton tip wrapped in pure virgin wool and a dab of jeweler's rouge paste to clean and polish the razor after which I sprinkle rosewater lightly over the outer surfaces and put a drop or two of my favorite aftershave down inside the moving parts. Using a jeweler's magnifying loupe I examine the razor for any signs of anything that wasn't there when it came from the Gillette factory, at this point it is helpful to turn around and face the picture of King Gillette hanging over the fireplace mantle and raise the shaver into the shaft of sunlight coming through the window for a salute to the master. I then replace the razor in the vault, set the combination, and close the barred gate securely. The razor blade itself is then sterilized in a series of ultraviolet heat lamps, dipped in alcohol, dipped in vinegar, rolled in talcum powder, and blown dry with a pneumatic puffer scented with essence of bay rum. After this quick clean up I replace the shaving brush in it's custom cushioned throne holder, place it in the humidity controlled room and I'm done.

I use a straight and swish in the sink full of water.

I was recently made to feel like a klutz when a question of how to dry the inner part of the scales came up (I use toilet paper) -- someone said they never even got the scales wet in the first place! They carefully rinse with water from the tap. What a Neanderthal I must be for splashing water all over the place.

Anyway, I still swish in the sink! I do try to be more delicate about it but still need to dry it in the end.

DRYING TIP! When all done shaving, rinse in the hottest water you can get from the tap to heat the razor and blade. Shake it off and it will do a much better job of air drying.

I swish in the sink full of water between passes and once after my last pass, then I run under cold water and wipe it off before hanging.

I'm a swisher. I don't like the sound of the running water while I shave and I think it's a PITA to turn it on and off between strokes.

Nicely done

I just swish, but will rethink my process now.
