What's new

So Amazon accidently double ordered my derbys.

Thought this was amusing.. I ordered 2 100 packs of Derbys from Amazon shipped to my APO address here in Germany. Well I got that order... then 2-3 weeks later I get a phone call from someone at work who got a phone call from a military post office from a base downrange in the middle east (not naming it)... so I dial there number to the PO downrange to inquire as I found it odd since I had not been there for around a year! Well the package finally arrived here in Germany..and whats in it? 2 more 100 packs of Derbys... what the hell huh? What would you do? I just kept them since it seems like to much effort to mail them back since it was there mistake.

Now I have 400 Derbys, should be good for quiet a while now...

1. You could be the King of Blade PIFs!
2. Use them and don't buy blades for 8 years.
3. Consider putting them in a vault as security against the Shavepocalypse!

Thank you and yes I'm set for a while now!

Just a odd story that happened to me... this isn't shaving related but I found it amusing. Well I was a new member of the AF and I had to go to the states from Italy for my deployment training... I had to go back twice... First time to NJ and 2nd time to TX... anyways we are passing through Baltimore... its a small group of us and none of us are wearing uniforms... we traveled in civvies. Regardless I don't know if you've been to Baltimore but there is a terminal for military contracted planes and the USO likes to do welcome home celebrations past customs for the troops. So I pass through the doors and am overwhelmed by what I see? I see a huge banner saying WELCOME HOME TROOPS! At least 80-100 people all waving flags and handing out gifts and stuff and wanting to shake my hand. I went along with it since people were so nice... you don't know what it means to people even though I was not "coming home" I was going TDY! Well we all shook hands, took free girl scout cookies and walked on... it was both exilerating and so odd at the same time.

Thanks for the support!

Here's what I would do since you asked. I would try to make it right and contact Amazon and inform them of the mistake.

Yo dawg, I heard you need a vault against the Shavepocalypse ?
So we put your stockpile of blades in a vault guarded by dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you.

I had a similar incident. I ordered two tubs of old proraso and received two new formula tubs. I went through the process of contacting the vendor and long story short I decided to keep them because of the total pain it had become. Then two more showed up in a round about way. I took it as a sign to shut up and accept new Proraso. I've accepted it but I still don't like it.

I ordered 2 100 packs of Derbys

I had to double check that. For a moment I thought you REALLY liked Derbys!

I doubt that Amazon would lose any sleep over the error. If you keep them just remember to be grateful and repay the 'gift' by sending extra business their way in the future.

I concur. Do what is right. I also suspect that you will be told to just keep them.

He will be told to just keep them. I'm almost 100% positive of that. They told me to keep a book that they sent me incorrectly, but I told them I would just prefer to send it back as I already had it, so they emailed me the shipping label.

You won. 1st place prize was 200 Derbys. Second place prize was 400.

What would I do? Well, it's never happened to me.... but I have ordered something and never got it before. I'm guessing that what I ordered didn't just vanish into thin air. Somebody ended up with it and probably said to themselves "Oh, it's my lucky day". But someone's gotta pay for the mistake.... no matter how big or small. I'd contact Amazon and explain what happened (since you asked). Chances are everyone is right here and they will just tell you to keep them and don't bother sending them back. At least you know that you tried to correct the mistake.
