Smiling blade on pasted balsa?

I just acquired my first smiling razor and would like to touch up the edge with diamond and CBN sprays before I shave test it. How do you strop a smiling blade on balsa? The same as a straight blade? With a special stroke/technique?

Thank you.

hanging strop would be better for this. just saying.

depending on how you do your 'roll' it shouldn't be difficult. start with your finger on the spine at the heel, half way through the back stroke, lay your finger on the spine at the toe. that's all you should need to do. this works for me on regular strokes for even big smiles so it should work for you.

Thanks. This sounds a lot easier. I'm going to give this a try.

Just remember to lift your finger off the heel then place it again on the toe. you're not keeping a finger on the heel part of the spine at all times.

This is the same method you should do for a rolling x stroke or regular stroke when doing honing. You shouldn't ever need to lift the blade or angle it. The pressure on the spine is all you need to achieve it.
