    B&B gang,

I am interested to hear what shaving soaps you love for their scent but would NEVER want as a cologne.

    Floor is yours....

  7. +1 arko

  8. Fine American Blend. Love the soap scent, but can't imagine wearing it as an aftershave/cologne.

  9. Lots of them, especially the brands that market them as unscented. Think La Toja, MWF, Haslinger Schafmilch etc - would you really want a soapy scented cologne?

Turning this around - my favorite cologne would make a terrible shaving soap. Its Santa Maria Novella's Nostalgia. It smells like gasoline, burnt tires and leather. Imagine shaving with that!. However - applying that scent after shaving with a neutral soap (I use Haslinger's Aloe Vera for example) is a perfect combination.

  10. Anything that smells like food

    anything sweet

    Tabac, personally

  11. too broad. Name the soap!!

  12. Well, I'm going to go with Stirling vanilla bean espresso even though:

    a) they did do it as a splash I believe, and
    b) apparently no one else but me liked it as a soap scent either!

  13. B&M Nocturne....great as a soap, enjoy the splash but glad it fades out after awhile.

  14. Stirling cool

I really like the candy cane scent. But don't think I could pull that scent off out in the public.

    Tabac +1
    Arko +1
    MDC Original + Fougere

  16. Stirling Black Ice

  17. Pre de Provence No.63 (cream)

  18. I forgot to add that the aftershave is a different scent than the soap though, with added lavender

  19. Haslinger’s schafmilch, great soap but I would not want this scent as a splash.
