Slivers of soap-any way to make a homemade soap bar out of them?

I have very dry skin when I use conventional soaps so I have started using Mamma Bear soaps that cost $6.99 a bar. It would sure be nice if I could consolidate the slivers at the end that are hard to work with into a bonus bar of soap.

Anyone have experience with this or know of a product that can do this?

Microwave 'em, very slowly, into one "all sorts" bar in a suitable container. Then recall the scene from Gangs of New York

Can you elaborate some - Microwave Power?, How slow is very slowly, what is an example of a suitable container?

Try microwave safe container (glass or paper) and 15 seconds. Too long and the soap turns liquid. If it is soft you can reform it and let it cool. Just make sure you don,t burn your fingers.

Turning to liquid shouldnt really be an issue, you just pur it into whatever mould you wish to use!

A silicon muffin tray should work nicely! You'll end up with a round "bar" bat that hardly matters!

Grate the soap bits into a powder and mix with a little bit of water. Put in a double boiler (or a glass bowl over a pot) and heat until warm. Once the soap has been melted, pour it into a mold and let sit overnight.

You could grate them up and press them into an empty deodorant container. Instant shave stick!

If you have Mama Bear's melt-and-pour hand soap, this should work, assuming she uses the same melt-and-pour base in both her shaving and hand soaps.

All of the above work fine, however, you might want to try this.

When you have a new puck wet both the new puck and the old sliver and press the sliver onto the top of the new puck with your fingers. Let it sit overnight and they should stay stuck together. I do this with my shower bar soap and have zero waste.

Liquid soap bites.

I LOVE solid soap. I now use a solid bar for my shampoo, even. I will never go back to liquid soaps.

 If this isn't a perfect case of YMMV, I don't know what is!

As the French say, "Chaque'un a son gout"... that's CASG, I guess.

I used to use a nylon mesh bag for soap slivers. It doesn't make a new bar but it does allow you to use every last bit of a soap bar.

Search the Bay...they are a just a few bucks.
