Slim Wallet Recommendation? Bellroy?

Gentlemen:

I'm looking for a slim but sturdy and secure wallet. I don't carry that many cards (about 6 total) and I find my current wallet has too much extra leather because of all the card slots and the two slots for unfolded cash, and this makes it thicker than I prefer.

I considered the All-Ett (http://www.all-ett.com/original-wallet/) but read too many reviews about cards slipping out of the slots.

I'm now considered the Note Sleeve wallet from Bellroy: http://bellroy.com/wallets/note-sleeve-wallet?variant=927

Anyone have any experience with Bellroy slim wallets? Are they any good?

Other recommendations of slimmer wallets are welcome. I do prefer to store my cash unfolded, but that's about my only requirement.

Nick

I have a Bellroy slim sleeve that I use along with a Mitchell Leather money clip wallet. Bellroy makes a good quality product. I use the Mitchell more lately because it does not require me to fold bills, but is nearly as slim as the Bellroy. A few other manufacturers to check out would be Tanner Goods, Corter Leather, and Billykirk. The slimmest carry option would be a money clip.

I have the All Ett International and I'm happy with it. It is very slim and I have never had anything slip out of it.

I just ordered up the Bellroy Note Sleeve..Hope to report on it soon...got it in "Blue Steel"...this one is the slimmest in their that you don't need to fold your bills...the Hide and Sleek caught my eye as well (liked the hidden bill pocket), but albeit on the slim side is a bigger wallet overall (compared with the note sleeve) and that turned me off a bit...

I ordered thru Nordstroms (they carry a few of their style), so I could take advantage of their free ship/free return in case I am not happy with it, but I don't expect to be...

Apparently they are redesigning the Hide and Sleek, be curious what changes they are making

I very highly suggest the wallet from Mitchell Leather. I spent a good month or two going between Bellroy, Mitchell, and Saddleback. I could not be happier with my decision. It is the best at being incredible slim while also allowing you to carry cash with out jumping through hoops.

Even smaller than the previously recommended Saddleback small billfold is the Saddleback ID Wallet. I started carrying a minimalist wallet about 5-6 years ago, and have carried this one for nearly 2 years. I can't imagine how this thing will ever wear out. I carry 6 cards, 2 ID's, and a decent number of bills. I can't recommend the little wallet enough.

Cheers!

I also have the Saddleback ID wallet. Typically I carry four cards or so and about 15 to 20 bills. I have never been able to get the cash seated into the center slot of the wallet. Between the thick outside leather and the pigskin lining I end having to fold the bills twice to get them to slip into the wallet, which makes it much thicker than I want. Any tricks you have used on yours to get cash into the center slot?

I rarely carry 15-20 bills. 10-12 is no issue at all, and it has stretched out some in the nearly 2 years of use. If I carried a roll of cash like Tony Soprano, something else would be in my pocket...

I've had that All Ett and never once have the cards slipped out. When I was researching it, there was a prior version that had slippage issues, but they've added these rubber dimples to the interior and so that issue seems to have been resolved.

Also, one of the complaints was about the crinkling sound of the sail cloth. It did crinkle a bit when I got it, but that seemed to go away within about a week.

I used to have a slim single pocket wallet (a Chester Mox) and a money clip. I could get it so that I could keep about 6 cards in there. However, having to anticipate what cards I would need on a given day got old really fast, and its been great having every card I need at my disposal. And its just about as slim as my old one. Right now my wallet has 19 cards in it, plus money and receipts.

I'd call this a slim wallet: ($20, Gustin)

But it sounds like you're looking for something more like this: ($95, Tanner Goods)

I bought and returned two out of three bellroy wallets due to poor stitching.

Everyone seems to rave about bellroy, but IMO the leather is nothing special, the stitching and workmanship was sub-par, and they were absolutely not worth the money they cost. I honestly don't know what the belroy fans are talking about.

I am thinking about buying a wallet from Friday and River. More expensive, but not made in India and I am HOPING that the quality will live up to the hype. The bellroys, three tries before I received a non-defective one, certainly did not live up to the hype.

However, the bellroy customer service people were really nice, professional, and good to deal with via email for my two returns.

Here's the minimalist wallet I'm considering:

Thanks for the additional suggestions, Its (the bellro) is on its way, I am glad reading these I purchased from Nordstrom's, they have a rep for no hassle returns...(and free return shipping!) in case this one doesn't work out, but I am going to look at these others while I wait...

I Have a Saddleback Wallet which was too small for my needs and found this:

$19.99 on the perry Ellis site above but might be slightly cheaper if you find one at Stein Mart. Which is where I got mine. It comes in either the black or brown. Well worth the money. I have the saddleback and another one I paid $50 that I don't use.
