Last night’s smoothish shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
Ω 10048 28mm boar brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shave soap
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, palm-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Tried a new blade and tried washing my face only once. Comfort was still there, but closeness suggested I need to get used to the new bevel. Pleasant enough.

The palm lathering with my piggy has accelerated its breaking in and the brush I thought was almost done breaking in has just barely started its grand journey.

The slow-motion hundred pairs of sumō/shiko leg lifts Friday and bopping around cleaning gutters on Saturday had my upper shins feeling worrisome, so I pondered doing another hundred pairs of slow-motion sumō chicanery and thought of this guy:

Opted to sway idiotically for an hour instead. Shins were impressed with my prudence.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Gillette post-war Tech on PAA el Fantasma handle
7 O’Clock Permasharp (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
Ω 10048 28mm boar brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shave soap x2
Lather: ARKO!, palm-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

What an efficiency boost going from the cap of a Henson to a Tech! This is the mild Tech, too. Whoo! Only needed buffing to get the whiskers on the bottom of the chin bone. I was not used to how little pressure was needed elsewhere. Scary, but better than when I can’t make the Tech work.

Got a half hour of idiotically swaying in the books. Also tried adding a no sugar added yogurt and a small bowl of grapes to my diet last night. This morning, my blood meter accused me of eating several kilograms of pure glucose. Fixable, though.

Happy shaves, everyone!

I had not noticed that you were also using the 7OC Permasharp. It's a winner and I am surprised it isn't more popular.

Edit: Russian is better for longevity for sure, but that "fresh from the pack" performance is pretty close for me between RU and IN.

Yep, for buyers in countries without purchasing restrictions, it's a best buy. I got a bunch off eBay from an Indian seller for roughly 7 cents a piece. The 7 o'clock Permasharp Stainless was tested to be less durable, but I have no issues getting a week of shaves per blade myself.

My piggy brush was soaking in a cup of hot water when I decided I wasn’t in for the fuss and just used my Cashmere brush instead. Lather was so easy to make and so perfect, it’s only Stockholm Syndrome keeping the 10048 out of the trash for now.

The shave showed the razor paid no attention to my pretense of using less pressure. Rough. Very timely and close. New blade for next time and new hopes, too.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Just over fourteen hours post shave and there’s a lot to like about the post-war Tech, but my hands and nervous system added undesirable elements. The Henson AL13+ is slower for me and I’m more likely to curl some stubble back, but it protects my skin from me.

why change a winning team, right?

Ever have read a rhetorical answer addressed to someone else and have to fight the urge to post your hypothetical answer?

Tonight’s zippy shave
RazoRock Mamba 0.53
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Cashmere 30mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: applying warm lather
Lather: Canada Shaving Soap, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

A few shave soap face washes would’ve been better prep than loading the brush and adding water to it as I lathered. The Mamba; with a rare and enjoyable appearance by the RazoRock UFO handle; whipped all over my neck and face at every angle. Did a second pass on my jawline. Feel overshaved on my jawline and upper lip. Palm or face lathering, the AP ShaveCo Cashmere is a gentle lather cannon.

Did some weird, nigh-isometric exercises that weren’t swaying, but were idiotic.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Our experiences agree. This blade does not like to be asked too much. It starts off cooperative and amendable, but soon becomes grouchy and prone to scratch. If anything, it is this one and not the 7OC black which is the "Indian Feather".

The Travel Raptor SE worked very hard to recapture the magic of last year.

Very thankful to Jocke for hosting this year’s OCtober.

Tonight’s bar-booping shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
No brush
Pre-shave: face wash with Equate eucalyptus soap x2
Lather: Equate eucalyptus soap
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Night after Halloween. 36-37 hours since last shave. Using a cleansing product similar to Noxzema Classic Clean. Road the cap of the Henson to start, but wondered about going steep for whiskers the blade kept missing.

#AwYeah

So, going forward, I risk wearing the blue off the anodized aluminum safety bar. Really liked the Equate eucalyptus skin cleanse as a “lather,” too, but I fragrance free stuff if it ends up not family friendly like brand name Noxzema.

Wifey made chicken pot pie and deity-tier mashed potatoes tonight. I may have exceeded my daily calories. And then I tucked into leftover candy and chips from Halloween. My meter will probably read “molasses” tomorrow morning. Put away some Halloween decorations and have yard work for the weekend.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Tonight’s steeply satisfying shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”

Lather: Equate eucalyptus soap
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Well… …I only thought my faux-Noxzema still had camphor and menthol. That was not so. What was so was that using my Henson at a steep angle boosted efficiency while maintaining comfort. Might try an unscented shaving cream next and definitely keeping the angle steep.

Set the manually-adjusted clocks back an hour for Daylight Shavings Time. Got one hundred pairs of regular speed sumō/shiko leg lifts and fifty pairs of on all fours leg lifts in the books as part of my hour of idiotically swaying.

Happy shaves, everyone!

Last night’s steeply satisfying shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
No brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shaving cream x2
Lather: Amazon Basics shaving cream
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

I like Amazon Basics fragrance-free shaving cream more than Walmart’s homage to Noxzema. Didn’t seem to soften my whiskers as much, but still felt gentler to my skin. And I may have used a little too much force shaving, but no known blood, at least…. Big dreams for next shave.

Was running around like a beheaded chicken yesterday, but I forgot daylight savings time and didn’t even contemplate mulching leaves until it was too late.

Got an hour of idiotically swaying in the books this morning and aim to get more done throughout the day (already got 15 minutes more on coffee break). Hoping to have improved blood labs despite my diet consisting of girl dinner.

Happy shaves, everyone!

I have done well with protein shakes for breakfast in particular Fa!rlife chocolate ones. My brother says it tastes like chocolate milk. I won't go that far. It tastes like a protein shake to me, but, it isn't bad. I have only found them online from Amazon and Walmart. In brick and mortar only Sam's club which I didn't even know we had till I searched for them on Instakart which I don't use. I was still doing take out for lunch and the past few days have done it for evening meals. I like the Kevin's Paleo Sous Vide meals over rice. My favorite is the Mongolian Beef. It is perfect. I always picked the onions out of Mongolian beef, and these don't have veggies. They are very simple to prepare, which is awesome for a single guy. I use my mini rice cooker for the rice. l have been around 115 except today I measured 136 because I barely slept since I had a beer. I haven't given up much of anything. Not even soda. Though I drink it in moderation.

That is weird. I took two chewable Pepcid and the shake does taste like chocolate milk now. Got to remember that. I always need antacid anyway.

Last night’s polyangular shave
Henson AL13+
7 O’Clock Permasharp (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
No brush
Pre-shave: face wash with shaving cream x2
Lather: Amazon Basics shaving cream
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: lukewarm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

I tried using a neutral angle shave expecting the maximum blade exposure to up my shave’s efficiency and the razor glided over my face with ease. Wasn’t efficient, though, so a lot of steep angled shaving cleaned up my neck and jawline. Thank you, safety bar, for being so nice and so chamfered.

Got two and a half hours of idiotically swaying in the books throughout yesterday. Body said: “Didn’t you use ‘sugar-free’ bbq sauce a lot? Get high-sugared, idiot!”

I get to vote after work tonight. I used to feel guilty that my vote counted as much as anyone else’s, but now I’m just sad.

Thank you for the tips on food choices, Michael. Cheers!

Happy shaves, everyone!

What is the difference between the 7O'Clock (Black/Ninja is what I have) and the 7O'Clock PermaSharp? I have PermaSharp blades which do not say 7O'Clock etc
