Decided to try a go with my Gillette Single Ring today. Awesome shave! I like it even better than I did my Gillette NEW LC. I used a Gillette 7 O'Clock black in it and I was amazed! Very close and smooth shave for me. It felt a little more aggressive, but not uncomfortable. BBS shave and no nicks or weepers. Those old timers really knew how to make a great razor! Wonderful shave!

And here I was thinking I probably wouldn't like a Single Ring, since I didn't like how my ball handle Old Type shaved. Even better than a Long Comb New, huh? Guess I need to add yet another razor to my wishlist! Thanks for that...

It's more aggressive, no doubt. It was just a great close shave with no irritation for me. I think it will be my go to razor from now on. Good luck in acquiring one. They are gorgeous looking and great shavers. I love my single ring. I use it with Kai blades most of the time.
My Single Ring's turn in the rotation started today. Probably my favorite, and yes, 101 years old. I think the Ball End Old Types with the thicker head caps are actually a little more aggressive thanthe single ring, of course it's a "ymmv" thing.
They are great shavers!
