Thanks very much. All clear now.
I initially thought it was referring to the base of the razor and not the neck, so until I learned differently, I thought everything was a "double-ring" based on the bottom of the razor look . . .

Just as an aside to this, I assume double rings are rarer and therefore more expensive. Is that right?
*edit* double *edit* rings are much more rare (and expensive), as they were only made for a couple years. Also they were the first safety razor Gillette produced!
