Lather: Wickham’s 1912 Club Cola, bowl-loaded/face-lathered
Aftershave: Ulm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky
Post-shave: mentholated Equate moisturizer

Added the waterboarding back to my prep and my shave seemed to be closer for it. Could’ve been just because I fussed more and only think the extra prep helped.

MMMonday, Sept 25th 2023. MicroMatic Mondays thread, use any ASR razor that holds a Gem blade any day of the week are welcomed.

Razor : Ever-Ready 1912 British variant- Mfg 1936-53, tame mid range, excellent quality of stamping that will last many generations with a little care. This is one of the best razors ASRazor ever made and sold millions of them. Handle has excellent shape and grip with the extended corners. Had a comfortable close shave this morning with no issues.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(6) very Sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock XXX, very nice unique clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " barber pole" 24mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, great splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-Ready 1912 with a coated Gem blade. Very enjoyable razor once mastered and will reward user for many years IMO.

• Pre-shave: Noxzema wash
• Soap: Stirling Spice (excellent)
• Post shave: Thayer’s unscented Witch Hazel followed by vintage 1965 Old Spice Splash and Stirling Spice balm

The Permasharp is losing its edge on this fifth shave, so I retired it. I need to remind myself that a half-DE blade will wear twice as fast as "normal" because I'm using only one edge for the entire shave. I only got BBS- on my cheeks and DFS on my neck. The blade was a little tuggy but not too harsh. It was a servicable shave, but nothing special.

An easy shave with the Twig today. For the price point, this razor punches way above it. Very nimble and maneuverable for getting into every single wrinkle and crease on the skin. Also delivers a very comfortable feel on the skin while taking down whiskers easily. I thought I’d have it for a couple of weeks, maybe a month or so but, it’s been in the shave den for over a year and is in the rotation hanging in with some good ones on a monthly basis. Great value and awesome performer.

Stahly live razor head with double stacked 3rd use 1/2 Perma sharp blade on one side is a very efficient head shaver. I just got the Kami yesterday and didn’t do well with it at all lol using a shark 1/2 de. Gonna have to watch som videos on this one

Before the Claymore Evolution by Alpha, there was this behemoth & brute from Executive Shaving, the Claymore V2. Yes, it’s uglier than sin itself. Is not very maneuverable and weighs a ton. But, the shave that it gives is second to none. On par with the likes of the original Asylum RX & the Ikon El Jefe. Blade feel is not as aggressive as those two but, there is plenty of it for those that prefer that quality in a razor. Nevertheless, the shave that it gives is excellent and a third pass is hardly ever required when this razor is in action. For me it works best with a Schick Proline as it provides a smoother feel than any of the Feather or KAI blades. It will wreck a face if one does not use a light touch. The PAA Sangre De Drago soap provided all the protection and slickness that this razor requires. Good sound technique and thick hydrated suds is all that is needed to get the best out of this beast. Awesome shaver really.
