It's a Merkur 907 mustache razor. I use it to trim the hedge.

Has anyone tried a Feather FHS-10 in a GEM.

On Monday I completed an experiment using a Feather FHS-10 blade in my GEM 1912 razor. I started the experiment by removing the spine from a GEM blade and attaching it to an FHS-10 blade. Great close (BBS) shave and a super smooth Feather shave.

8.5 out of 10. I gave myself a 2mm slice under my chin. Was going too fast. Otherwise, a dynamite shave.

- Stirling bay rum oil
- T+S Morning Coffee in the Canadian Wilderness soap
- RV B&B 2019 Manchurian brush
- Schick M1 with Schick Twin
- T+S Morning Coffee in the Canadian Wilderness spalsh

But today I went crazy and swapped in Stirling Unscented Menthol for the plain. Woo hoo. I’m thinking the menthol scent overpowered the T+S so I’m going back to plain tomorrow.

Maxed out the M1 and got a bit closer result. Up to 4 shaves now on the twin and still working well .... which puts it in the top tier for blade longevity in my case.

All-in-all a very pleasant shave for today.

Great going! That’s been on my bucket list for a while, but I keep forgetting. I’ve even been saving the spines from my GEM Personna blades that I’ve been modifying for Valets. Any problem with the fit? I know the Feathers are a little deeper (width) than the personas.

The fit was perfect. It also fits my Damaskeene including the Damaskeene OC.

Alright, I'm only getting worse. Haven't posted since Monday so that makes 5 shaves. I had two real setups in that time.
Razor: RR blackhawk v2 X 2
Blade: Proline?
Brush: Rick Montalvo brush with Timberwolf synth knot
Lather: chiseled face Ghost Town Barber
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Lime
I used this setup twice. It was delightful. I still randomly get a tiny weeper on my chin if I don't pay attention but it is never painful and is pretty much done when it begins. I think it might be because the blade is wider and I catch something that I normally avoid...I dunno, I'm kind of a noob


Razor: GEM X 3
Blade: GEM PTFE
Brush: Rick Montalvo brush with Timberwolf synth knot
Lather: chiseled face Ghost Town Barber
Aftershave: Stirling Unscented With Menthol Balm

I used this set up three times. It was also delightful.
