Gonna give this a try here tonight. Just got my single edge blades in the mail. I'm psyched and nervous all at the same time. Any helpful tips and hints would be appreciated. Thanks
Hmm... tonight I'll be eating Buffalo Wings, so I won't be able to check what kind of razor you have.
Still, I can give you some generic advises:
1. Have patience
2. Hold your razor firmly but do not apply pressure to it.
3. Search on youtbe videos of people shaving with a simmilar razor
4. Practice the moves with the razor empty (no blade)
5. Don't be afraid to finish the job with your regular razor.
6. Do not give up
Remember: We do this because we like it, because it's more comfortable, because we trully enjoy it.
Have a happy shave!
For most SE razors, I suggest you hold it with the head flush against your face and then raise the back end slightly to get contact with razor. Go slowly. Let the razor's weight do the work. No pressure. SEs give me the best shaves I've ever given myself.
NO PRESSURE! Seriously, SE will bite if you press in. Don't try to use the handle angle to judge the correct angle. For SE ra,ors, the correct angle will have the handle almost 90 degrees to your face. If you use the handle at the same angle as a DE, you'll end up scraping rather than efficiently cutting. Listen to the razor. When you have it right, the blade will sing. Lots of feedback. Take it slowly and don't sweat it if your first shaves are rough. There's a fair learning curve and the SE (other than injectors) are even more different than are DE from carts. Relax and enjoy the curve. It took me a while but my SE are now among the best shavers I own.
