What's new

Single best shave I have ever had.

...Ever-Ready 1912 with a 3 or 4 time used GEM SS blade and La Toja shaving cream. I apologize if it's bad form to start a thread about one shave, but this shave was other worldly. I did two passes and some minor touch-ups. Not a single nick or weeper. Not a single patch anywhere on my face that even showed redness. It's the single best shave I've ever given myself. I am just in awe of how wonderful the SE razor shaves!

good job William - thanks for sharing!

I've had two noteworthy shaves lately:

1 - face - two days ago - hoffritz slant with once used gillette 7 green - palmolive shave stick

bbs all over the face (a little rough on the neck but I don't ever try for bbs down there due to rashing)

2 - I had the best headshave for sometime about a week ago - ER1912, can of soap, hot shower, single pass with a little polishing, GEM blade on 2nd use.

it's nice to have a truly excellent shave mixed in with all the great shaves - just when I think I'm doing a pretty good job I'll notice that I've done one little part of the shave a little better.

Thanks guys! I was sure it was impossible to get BBS without a little irritation somewhere due to a few touch ups here and there to get some spots on my neck and under my nose. This shave is the one I think all others will be judged by. :thumbup1:

Yes, the SE razors will give you an amazing shave once you get accustomed to them.

I am in the throws of trying to decide which one I want to keep so all the rest can go.

I think this is an imposable task as every time I decide on just one (to leave) I shave with it and it goes back with the others

Every SE I own will give me a perfect shave time after time.

I have managed to narrow it down to these six razors-
1) 1912 SE (king of kings, razor of all razors)
2) ER lather catcher (not as good as 1912 - but fun to use)
3) Adjustable Schick Injector (perfect shave, blades last forever)
4) 60's English Gillette Tech (great head - cheap handle)
5) Black Handled Super Speed (smoooooth)
6) Grandfather's 50's era Flare Tip Super Speed (sentimental reasons)

Now, I just have to let go of my rarely used Merkur Adjustable, Fatboy, New OC, Single Ring, Bostonian, Tuckaway and Aristocrat go!

I truly love shaving with this beautiful work of art.

I have two model 1912. One US made the other British made. Both are sweet!!!

I have been trying to find out how to thin the SE razor herd. Every time I think I have one that can go it blows me away when I take it for another spin.

Today's shave:

I am curious...have you found any differences in the British made 1912?
