Another update: but first a quoted post from the travel option thread.
That's awesome. How does it hold up to a semi-wet brush? I travel all the time and take two brushes since I have to have variety. :001_smile Right now I have one boar brush in a pill bottle and one synthetic brush that is just stuffed into my bag. The good thing about the synthetic is that it dries in no time, so when I leave it's always dry and I don't really worry about any damage from it not being protected. But if I had one of those travel rolls. . .
So @McNutt because of your concern I changed my design. I kept the same "treatment" for the leather but added an "extra" insurance policy to the mix. I saddle stitched a clear outdoor grade vinyl liner into the roll. Here are some pix of the one that will go to auction. I will continue on the other two in hopes they will be ready but sadly I may not be able to complete them...time invested-2 hours knife work (cutting and edge beveling), 2 hours prepping and sealing flesh side, 2 hours tooling (to include design layout) and 4 hours dying oiling and top coat/sealing. Finally 30 minutes saddle stitching liner in place. Approximately 10 hours give or take an hour. Yes it's slow work...hand made item. Here's pix.
Stitching in liner.

So now gotta up load pix and figure out what's next for auction..

And people wonder why they can’t buy something like that for 10 or 20 bucks.... Very generous of you to invest the time and work.
thank you for the kind words! And yes I've dealt with people who want "cheap" work many times, mostly they are the type who I avoid as customers. Sometimes I get the "I can get one from such and such for cheaper than that!" I just smile and politely say "ok please do, thank you" or I get "will you price match such and such?" That one makes me laugh every time! Anyway thank you again for the kind words!
