Simpsons Chubby 1, or Rooney 1/2?

I'm zeroing in, I think, on my large brush choice. I have a fantastic brush when I take my SMF III (24mm knot/60mm loft) and wrap a rubber band around the base, which shortens it by about 1 CM and tightens the bloom. So my two top contenders to fill that size slot would be the Chubby 1 or the Rooney 1/2, both in silvertip. Opinions?

P.S. I had this originally in "Brush Wars," but that sub-forum doesn't seem to get nearly as much traffic. I guess brush cage matches are out of fashion.

You're looking for a large brush?
You should be warned that the CH1 is actually a pretty small brush - it feels smaller even than a Rooney 1/1 because of the more bulb-like shape of the knot.

I would actually change your choices to the Chubby 2 or the Rooney 1/1.
(I've tried all four - Rooney 1/1, Rooney 1/2, Chubby 1, and Chubby 2)
I find the loft on the Size 2 Rooneys to be too tall for me, but the larger Simpsons brushes scale up beautifully.

my Rooney 1/2 is my best and favourite brush. It is 2 band finest so it has plenty of backbone. The size is a fraction smaller than my Simpson Tulip 3.
