That's not a lamp black Somerset brush, they were very lightly engraved, black soot markings looked like this:

An easy way to tell Sommerset lamp black from the later Vulfix label: the Vulfix print is pressed into the handle and can be felt as shallow indentations, whereas the lamp black cannot be felt.
