Silver British Aristocrat ?

I was out antiquing today and saw a British Aristocrat that I wasn't sure about. The pat number was 400, 621. The razor looked like it was actual silver because there was a significant amount of tarnish on it. It definitely wasn't dirty nickel or rhodium, but actual tarnish, which really made me think that it was made out of silver. Does anybody know anything about silver plated British Aristocrats with the patent number above? I could potentially go back and get it, but I thought the price was too high. It came in a large leather suitcase like toiletry kit. The razor case itself was silver in color with a purple lining, but as there wasn't any tarnishing, I don't think it was silver as well.

Thanks for the links. The material was definitely silver because of the tarnishing. I don't remember the other details, but it definitely had the 400, 621 patent number under the head. I'm not positive, but I recall a Gillette logo on the handle. However, I do not think that there was an additional patent number on the handle itself, which seems to be a variant not noted in the thread. Perhaps it is the #1. I wonder if I should go back and get it. The silo doors didn't align perfectly as there was a slight gap at one end, which gradually disappeared until the doors were properly aligned on the other side. I didn't detect any major plating loss and the case was in good shape as well. Any ideas about what a fair price would be for a set like this one? The asking price was probably fair, but I'm cheap and wouldn't normally pay 'market value' for a razor at an antique shop.

Early English Aristocrats were indeed Silver Plated, I've had a few in recently and the owner asked me to plate in nickel or Rhodium, the two razors were really tarnished and looked awful.

Once polished though, they looked like new and the silver finish was quite stunning. I sent them back and I'm sure the owner would have been very pleased with them.
