What's new

Sig 938 CCW

Anybody have experience with this one? I really like the look a feel, my buddy wants a new CCW and i like this one

I just watched Nutnfancy's review the other day. I like the 1911 ergonomics, if you shoot 1911's and are looking for a subcompact 9mm the 938 looks like a good fit. I like my Glock 26 but it is heavy, capacity vs. weight is a trade off. I don't really CCW but the 938 looks pretty sweet.

I watched his and a few dozen others, and read online. Looks like when they originally came out they had issues, but seems to be worked out now. I like the small factor of it, considering my slim/athletic frame, I think it will conceal well.

It's a neat gun but I think a few of the details are less than desirable for carry compared to other options. All metal makes it heavy, SAO makes an active safety more necessary which adds complication to presenting the weapon. I don't feel that the "nice trigger" benefit of an SAO gun is useful in a carry gun. You won't be shooting it for fun and you won't be winning any marksmanship awards.

I have 3 weapons set up for carry:
S&W 442 (.38 revolver)
S&W Shield (.40 auto)
Beretta Nano (9mm auto)

I find myself carrying the Beretta probably 8 times out of 10. Simple, small, reliable, as accurate as any pistol of its type out there. And from what I see pretty reasonably priced too.

Do you use a pocket holster for the Nano? What's your preferred way to carry?

Interesting, I am going to do a little more research, I am a S&W fan.

Also some range time needs to happen soon too

I carry the Nano in a number of ways. The black holster is a DeSantis Slide. I also have this same holster for both S&W pistols.
The squar-ish tan holster is a "wallet" style, designed to be carried in the back pocket. Custom work by Andrews Leather, Alachua FL
The other tan holster is designed to be used for front pocket carry. I have one of those for both the Nano and S&W 442 revolver. Again, both custom Andrews Leather.

More often than not I carry the Nano in the DeSantis slide..the S&W 442 sees most of its time in the Andrews front pocket holster. The Andrews wallet holster works great when wearing jeans and not sitting for an extended time (go figure). I use the Desantis exclusively when carrying the S&W Shield.
