Sick of USPS!

I just received a package from a well regarded vendor today; only to find the box demolished and most of the contents unaccounted for. Are you kidding me? Ive emailed the vendor to straighten this out. Im more annoyed than anything cause I have faith the vendor will take care of me. To top it off the put a sticker on it; "received in damaged condition." They are right; I received it in damaged condition!

This kind of stuff happens to every shipping service, whether it be UPS, FEDEX, DHL, USPS, etc.

Was the box packed poorly? (no inner support for the box? ie. no use of styrofoam popcorn?)

but anyways, hopefully your vendor will reimburse you or get you another product sent out for free

Ohh they lost a 7/8 TI Straight for me a couple years back. Just kinda vanished!

Vanished. Sure.

Have you ordered something from Germany and had it shipped via DHL? You wait for what seems to be forever while it sits in customs. Sooner or later, the hacks decide to release it. A few days/weeks later it shows up at your door. Only then do you find out why it took so long. They were playing soccer with your box.

Just to clarify, I feel the same way about US Customs that you do the USPS. Is there anything the government does well?

A friend of mine had to truck frieight his transmission to a custom shop for rebuilding. DHL was the only company that would do it. They lost his transmission. A freaking transmission on a pallet. After that I realized that picking up my packages at FedEx's local hub isn't so bad.

For what it's worth I've had the best luck with USPS and UPS.

A transmission? Are you sure they just didn't 'lose it' as opposed to actually losing it?

Hmmm...I sent a $3500 guitar to Switzerland from Connecticut via USPS Parcel Post and it arrived in perfect condition in 4 working days for $85. I really don't think you can blame an entire industry (or government?) for a single damaged box.

I ordered an iPod nano from Amazon. I received a box partially open with the iPod box open and the iPod missing. I emailed Amazon to tell them I wouldn't be ordering from them again because I didn't like the idea of buying presents for random unknown people. Luckily Amazon was upstanding and made it right, but having my mail opened and the contents stolen was unbelievable.

I'll take USPS over UPS anytime. We ship a lot of small packages and also receive supplies from vendors. USPS is dependable and to my knowledge do not treat their employees like a bug to be squashed under heel.

Did you ever hear the 'ticking' in the UPS truck when the truck is stopped in front of your house? It's a timer .... time of open door, time to your house and back, even the seatbelt is timed. If that isn't enough every truck is monitored by GPS. Shock collars are probably next.
