Showcase of some razors I purchased over the last 2yrs (Modern & Vintage)

Here's a few DE razors I purchased over the last 2yrs. Some modern, some vintage. Will split them up post by post.

First we have is a vintage bakelite razor made in England, I'm not 100% sure about the name but i believe it's made by Souplex. I already had a similar set with a metal cap so I was very happy to find this one to go alongside it, this one is all bakelite barring the brass thread, completely different razors in terms of geometry & shave, both excellent shavers. Love the tube cases they come in.

Next we have is a modern razor(s) I bought which are stainless steel, they are generic not branded, same head on each but different handles, they all were £25 at the time (they've gone up in price since way up) I thought they wouldn't be stainless steel & it was a mistake but I was wrong, yes even the heads are stainless steel, well when I received them i was impressed, beautiful handles, but horrible QC, blade alignment issues, no play in the blade so can't adjust it, shave is rough, too much blade for me, good thing is I didn't pay too much so didn't get burnt that bad, love the handles that's the only positive.

This is the Merkur 45 bakelite a wonderful shaver, I had one many years ago but I dropped it off my shelf & accidentally stepped on it & crushed it, a very light razor, I believe it's discontinued now because when I tried to search for it online I went through site by site, it said no longer available or discontinued, a few places may have it but they're selling it for extortionate prices, luckily I saw one at a barber shop where they had a razor cabinet selling various Merkur razors, must of been old stock, I got it for £12 which is decent.

A gold RR Lupo aluminium, it's beautiful but I didn't get along with it at first, took me a while to get use to it, I mean I can get a decent shave out of it but it's not my favourite.

I already had both of the following but wanted extras because I like them so much, The Fatip Piccolo open combs, was difficult but managed to get the older aggressive model (my favourite) a seller had some old stock, bought a newer version too at the same time. Luckily no blade alignment issues with either.

This next one isn't a razor but a Frankenrazor which I happened to stumbled upon, So I bought a stainless steel razor but the wrong baseplate was sent to me also it was damaged, the razor was based on the RR Gamechanger to a tee, so what I done was use that top cap with my Gamechanger's baseplate, it fits so perfectly so snug that you'd think it was a genuine model, perfect clamp, it's a scalloped cap like Timeless razors have, my .84 Gamechanger is a marvelous shaver but I do get nicked with it more than any other razor for some reason, so with this top cap it changes the way it shaves, I would describe it being somewhere between the .68 and the .84

This one is fantastic, really smooth it's almost identical to the Parker 24c but slightly different. One of the smoothest razors in my arsenal, moderately efficient too. Goodfellas open comb is what it's known as, I just bought the head & stuck it on one of my SS handles. The satin finish is really nice.

This is incredibly confusing to my brain. My Timeless has rectangular posts in the top cap and, as far as I remember, the GC has posts built into the bottom plate. What the heck is the chance of even finding a different cap to fit the GC, let alone one that works this well!? :w00t:

I find this razor interesting, because the handle looks somewhat like a light saber.
I really like this one, like a rod of steel, one of the heaviest I have.
While I am indeed not a fan of plastic razors, I have to give it up for this one, because its darn beautiful IMO. 😍
Thank you, it's a very light razor but it shaves so good, usually I do prefer something with a little more weight but this one is an exception.

 The razor that cap is from was based on the RR Gamechanger, the dimensions everything, same posts & all, that's why it's fits so perfectly, extremely tight tolerances.
