Where are you guys finding your colors at?
Most places that sell kilts have a tartan finder feature.
If your family is not listed, you may have to look in an associated family group.
If not in Scotland families, maybe Irish families or a given ancestral area.
I looked at several sites and wound up buying from USA Kilts.

I've no personal connection to Scotland, but I love tartans and I have several tartan neckties. I have ties in the Cape Breton, the Nova Scotia, the Culloden, the Rob Roy, as well as the MacGillivray and the Anderson tartans. The MacGillivray was a gift from my friends I referenced earlier in this thread, and the Anderson I bought a long time ago because of my 50 year man crush on Ian.

For many years I've wanted a tie made out of the Motherwell FC Fir Park Dress Tartan. This thread has finally inspired me to email Dalgliesh Kilts in Motherwell to see if they might cut and sew one for me. I'm not a MFC supporter at all; rather, that tartan is the closest I can find to the colours of my college alma mater. We'll see... here it is.
