I have a 27 in tuxedo, a 29, and a 14S, so I passed on the FC Essential.... but I can live vicariously through all of yours. When you get it.... Lets see some pics and what nib did you get, how does it write ??

I'll try to when mine arrives, but not sure I can promise - I'm going to be doing some traveling, so might not be able to get to it before I go. I'll at least try with the cartridge, and take a couple of quick pictures.

Since we are waiting a few days anyway Brian, care to share some thoughts on the 29 ? Does the all metal grip get slippery or does the amazing engraving help that out?

Not at all slippery.... great fit to the hand and you are right, the engraving on the magnets are awesome

Let me know if you want a higher resolution version of my chicken scratch. It seems that the uploader is just scaling it to around 800x600 regardless of what resolution I upload, so not sure I can make it any bigger. Maybe if I add it to my gallery I can.

Man, I really need to work on my writing. I'm very tentative and uneven right now (because of so little use of my handwriting in the last few years). This pen seem really wet for a fine, so I end up with a pretty broad line and ink splotches here and there. My Metropolitin is way dryer in fine with its included cartridge.

Argh FedEx dropped the ball... I have a wee chance of getting it tonight... if not its a bloody 2 hour drive on monday to pick it up

James only a few short months ago my handwriting didn't look all that much better it will come quicker then you think

And I find some paper slurps up ink more then some others, some stuff at work can turn a fine line into a broad, although if I write faster it is okay

Indeed. Actually this evening I sat down, slowed down, and just spent some time practicing, and was able to get quite a bit of improvement in just a couple of hours. Obviously it's going to take much more than that to commit it to muscle memory, but it's a start. I'm going to spend some time trying to get my writing chops back over Christmas. I'm going to need it if I have any hope of doing the time management thing on paper!

Don't worry James. Just have fun and enjoy using a fine writing instrument that 95% of the world has forgotten about and the handwriting will come to you!
