When my dad shot the bear on his property, with his bow, it was the first time he didn't have "pass-through". Later, on a horse-back hunt in Wyoming, his guide said there wasn't really a handgun or brush gun too big for the bears they might run into. Exaggeration or not, I'd want more, not less for that type of threat when using best safety/threat practices.
How do they handle? That's fast enough to be a Saturday Night, Sunday Night, Monday Night, and Tuesday Night Special. What make and model? Snappy or smooth?
