My Philipines bike is very practical for this country. Speed limit it built-up areas is 40kph, but you rarely get that fast due to traffic congestion. On the "open" road 80kph is considered warp speed. I have had this bike now for 6 years and ridden it over all of the major islands of the Philippines - except Masbate. It cost me USD 1,200 new including helmet (I didn't need) and 3 years compulsory insurance. Registration and insurance is now costing me about USD 25 per year.

It is a Yamahar YBR125G. Top speed of about 90kph with my fat arse on board and fully loaded for "touring". Having a rear-seat accessory riding with you slows things down a bit. but gives me some comfort each night while away.

The rear box is from my BMW K100RS in Singapore and the soft panniers are from my Suzuki DL650 (VStrom) in Australia.

I had the chance to look at one of the new BMW R18 motorcycles this last Saturday. It is a beauty. If you like cruisers like I do, go take a look at one of these.

Oh dear. After R75/5, R75/6, R90, R100s, and R100GS this seems like a logical progression at this later stage of my life. Wife just scowled at me.
