Fumbling about.
A gentlemen on another thread suggested, probably tongue in cheek, this thread. Sounded like a good idea to me.

One of the few razors I have which anyone might think of as high end is the Blackland Blackbird. I think it's probably marginal as a high end razor but it's the best I can do. It's a decent shaving and smooth shaving safety razor, but it has an unfortunate tendency to jump up out of nowhere and bite me. I'm not a fan of the razor because of that.

What I'm really interested in here is giving everyone a place to post photos and discussion of their expensive razors of the sort I sometimes drool over because they're so pretty. So, this is a jewelry razor thread if you will.

Happy shaves,

Jim

What price range is a high end razor?

That's not a discussion I've found to have an end. To me, it's subjective, so it's your call. If you consider it high end it is, according to me, high end enough to be included. I realize somebody will post their old Tech, perhaps facetiously, perhaps seriously; that's their call.

Even though I might disagree with the inclusion of some razors, I'm not interested here in discussing whether Razor X is high end or why Razor Y is not high end.

I'm mostly interested in Jewelry Razor Porn!

Happy shaves,

Jim

I don't have a glue gun to bedazzle my Fatip Grande, but I shall indulge in the photos posted from other high-end razors on this wonderful thread.

I can't really say I have lots of, or even any, high end razors. But since whether a razor is high end is subjective and relative to each individual, I would say that for me I have two razors that I consider high end. No, they don't cost $200. Or even $100. But when taking the handles and heads into account, the cost is probably approaching $100 for one of them.

I really love the vintage Gillette New Deluxe. And they are somewhat hard to find. And when they become available the cheapest I've seen them sell for is around $50 with a tuckaway handle. I prefer a longer handle and put an Ikon Bulldog 85mm matte finish handle on mine. It is one of my two go to razors. I find it be pretty efficient for my beard and very comfortable, usually. I'll either use a GSB or Polsilver SI in it. The one on the far left is this razor.

My other one is newly acquired and has quickly become my second go to razor. A RazoRock GameChanger Open Comb with the HD handle. Same length handle as the Ikon and nicely weighted and knurled. I get really similar shaves with it compared to the New Deluxe, so I'll alternate between the two every week or so. And I use the same blades in both razors.

I am just starting (in my mind) my wet shaving journey and since I just graduated from college my most high end razor is the one I just got yesterday: A 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable. It was in really nice condition and is one of my most expensive one item purchases currently. I loved the adjust-ability today so to me that is nice and high end, a cheapo razor doesn't adjust (I am talking the likes of my $1 Assured razor I got at Dollar Tree). Plus I could just feel how well built the Gillette was compared to every other single cheap razor I own. So here is my Slim:

But don't get me wrong, I have dreams (Fatboy revamp by razoremporium, Toggle, Karve, and a Rockwell 6S).

Beauties! The New Deluxe is a great razor!

Well, as a vintage nut I have no Wolfies or other high-end modern razors to show.

I do however have some vintages from the top shelf as my vintage RAD quickly exploded on me. These are the main ones in my den that I would define as high-end due to rarity and price combined. I crammed them all into my photobox to take this picture.
