Should I just give it up?

I am not sure if I can grow a beard full to my liking. I've been contemplating shaving it off, I want to clean up my cheek line today but I fear I'll go too low if I want to get rid of the patchiness

My impression is you should keep the mustache but shave off the beard. But, facial hair is a very personal thing, and my preferences are irrelevant, you should groom in the manner that makes you feel good about yourself.

I would try and grow it out, you never know.

I used to think I have patches to the side of my lip.

Lo and behold my moustache grows longer and covers everything, now I have a really long beard.
