What's new

short history of shaving

interesting reading; my only quibble was with the last point that today's shavers have never had it so good. i would revise that to read "today's wetshavers have never had it so good".

Very cool, but did anyone else notice the typo?

It goes from 1847 to 1970 to 1900 (paragraph about hours and wages for barber and cutlery workers).

I think maybe they meant 1870

Today's manufacturers are constantly developing improved edges, smoother coatings, better lathers and preps, while still keeping the prices affordable. Shaving comfort is markedly improved over the relatively modern uncoated safety blades of the 1950's. The shavers of today have never had it so good.
