Shoemakers Leather

Dear Group, i hope you don't think this too foolish a question. I have a goodly supply of shoemakers leather. Would that be a suitable material for making a strop with do you think?

It might be. It depends on how good and what type of surface the leather has. If the leather does not owe you anything it is probably worth cutting a strip and trying it out.
