Shoe size question

There are some shoes I am looking at on Sierra Trading Post. The notes are that the shoes run large, and to order a half-size smaller.

These are European sized, so you have 44 (10-10 1/2) and 45 (11-11 1/2.)

I typically wear 11's, and in fact are wearing the size 45 of this shoe right now.

Does this mean I order the 44s?

Order both and return the pair that doesn't fit.

Looks like you answered your own question!:lol:

The good news is that STP is a great e-retailer, and if the fit is off they will gladly accept your return for another size.

Ask them to provide you the actual measurements of the shoes, then compare that with the dimensions of a pair that fits you exceptionally well.

I find actual measurements a far better way of judging fit than the "size" which varies by manufacturer and sometimes varies within a manufacturer's lines as they've subcontracted to different factories.

I really wish shoes were sold by actual measurement. The sizes don't mean anything.

Thanks all.

I waited... and the shoes got discounted to 20% off. Then I had a 20% coupon from my last Sierra Trading Post order. 40% off

Good Luck!

I have "duck feet", that is the first three toes are the same length, the fourth nearly as long. Then a narrow heel. I used to get shoes custom made to my feet (the shoemaker took casts of my feet) but he died in the late 1960's. I have not had pair of shoes fit properly since. :cursing:

My biggest gripe is that no one seems to make a "combo last" shoe anymore. Unless I am prepared to go several hundred dollars for a pair of shoes, that is.

Just wanted to get this off my chest.
