Shea Butter for face blemishes/marks

has anyone tried Shea Butter for this?

I have some blemishes marks on my jaw line and light marks on my cheeks, had it a while, pretty much goes away in summer with the sun around a bit more (its winter here)

have tried some Bio oil (for scaring/marks) and some other cream (called pot of gold) both didn't do much.

I guess I need something to help even up my skin tone and make the marks disappear?

anyone got any suggestions?

Definitely try it. Make sure it's 100% shea butter. It might work. I'm using it because I had marks around my lips (doctor said it might be psoriasis). I apply it every night before going to sleep. It's oily as you can imagine so don't use it during the day. It has made the marks much less noticeable.

What sort of "marks" are they? Do you mean the residual redness left over from pimples? The pimples themselves?

Topical retinoids such as Differin, Tazorac or Retin-A will even out your complexion. They're only available by prescription in the U.S. Salicylic acid is a fairly gentle exfoliant that will smooth out your complexion, as well.

I guess its more uneven skintone, my wife thinks I'm crazy, on one side its slightly worse, definitely not pimples or left over pimples it's not flaky like a condition.

it's more like very small red flecks that seem to only be where my wiskers are on my jaw line - no they aren't ingrows.

I don't want any topical solutions and I'm in another country to the US.

Isn't shea butter a topical solution? The salicylic acid is available over the counter. Alpha hydroxy acids are another option. Neither of them produce much irritation. They dissolve dirt, oil, dead skin cells, etc. I mean, it's up to you. I don't work for the "acid industry." It just seems like it might help based on my experience.

I don't see shea butter, a type of moisturizer, evening things out. Moisturizer is supposed to hydrate your skin. Unless it's uneven because it needs to be moisturized, I don't think that will work. It might, though. Give it a shot.

thanks Sal, didnt mean to put your post out the window, just didnt think it was worth going to the doctor about and getting a script, she would probably think im mad, its just light red marks, possibly scaring, im gona lay off Alum and see if that helps.

Im pretty much getting NO ingrown hairs at all since i started DE shaving, the redness looks worst when ive just shaved, the next day or too its not as noticeable.

I'm nearly a week into using my pure Shea butter my skin looks and feels great, I'm already seeing an improvement to the light blemishes and marks, I've been applying it once at night time.

still not used to the smell yet!

Great to hear, this stuff is magic! Mikes Natural shaving soaps also contain shea butter and are fantastic btw.
