Shaving without a shaving brush.

I'm going off to a summer school thing for 6 weeks and for shaving I don't want the attention that I am going to get from rubbing a shaving brush on my face and have a little bowl with some soap (I'm going off with a bunch of teenagers). I'm packing my Gillette Sensor Excel and I was wondering what are some good alternatives to the whole soap/brush thing without buying canned goop.

Who cares what attention you get when they see the good shaves you get thy will want to follow suit!

You can try just rubbing it in your hands quickly it works but nowhere near aswell as with a brush I'd say either find a gel or get some barbasol canned or maybe a lather free I havent used any yet so I can't really suggest any

+1 on the Barbasol. Yes, it's canned "goo," but you've already decided to sacrifice quality for convenience by using a Sensor, so...

Also, Barbasol makes a non-aerosol that's supposedly quite good. I've been meaning to pick some up for use in my travel kit, along with a Trac-II:

+1 on that. You can teach them to shave a better way.

koof,

You an either use the brushless products, or you could make the lather (from creams preferably)) in a face washing cloth; not ideal, but it does work :001_smile

Have fun !

You could use oil instead of lather. I did it a few times, works well but I miss the process of building lather.

KMF works good without brush; JASON has a brushless lotion.

:lol: So he's concerned about being teased for using a brush... Yeah, a white feminine bottle that says Kiss My Face will go over really really well, I'm sure.

+1 on the shave oil. Try it. It's cool. will last and will give you a great shave. Pacific Shaving Oil is at Christmas Tree Shops locally if you're in the States. I think Pacific Shaving has free shipping until June 20 on order over $25. So maybe the cream too.

If you would allow me to suggest something else....

consider not allowing peer pressure to keep you from doing what is right and good.

If you're hiking... that's another story. Pacific Shave Oil smells wonderful at the break of dawn in the great outdoors. It's compact and protective.

Kiss my face, Cremo Cream, Proraso all work brushless but for me, the brush is a huge part of the enjoyment. There is nothing wrong with a little attention, especially when you are showing people the 'right way' to shave:thumbup: For me, it's not hard to take a brush on vacation, just put it in a little travel tube or plastic box, they are relatively light and don't take up much space.

That's also part of it. I don't know where I can get that nice warm water and I'd just prefer to keep all my not-so-replaceable stuff at home.

I know it been said but take your brush!

I know the first time I saw a guy in the Marines use a brush, I thought wow, that's old school and actually thought it was cool and manly. I thought, I've got to try that. I think how if I had used the brush and soap thing when I was in college, how I bet girls would have been in to that. A way to make myself stand out back then above the other guys. Lets face it, a monkey can get cream out of a can.

Stand out. Set the example and mentor these "teenagers". If you take your brush and soap and stick with it, it sounds like it may even build your self esteem up a bit more as well. Are you going to let a bunch of zit faced little teenagers who haven't been anywhere or seen anything make YOU feel uncomfortable being yourself? (Yes, I'm trying to plant that in your head, I wouldn't speak to them that way)

Now, if your self esteem is to low and you just can't mentor someone, then I say Barbasol is the only way to go.

Put some KMF in a travel tube and tell 'em it's made by Axe.
No need for that:
